Municipal Elections in Morocco: Contested Issues and the Impact on the Wider Political Landscape

Abstract

This paper explores the Moroccan municipal elections held in September, 2015. The results of the elections give an indication of the strength of the Islamist Justice and Development Party which has dominated the government since their victory in the legislative elections of 2011.
