Abstract

​​​​​The Arab region is a rich place to test constructivist ideas, moving beyond realist views focused on material power and liberal views that see progress as linear. If international politics is shaped by shared meanings and interactions, the region’s mix of history, identity, religion, culture, and interests makes it ideal for developing and challenging constructivist approaches.
