This special issue of Siyasat Arabiya, dedicated to Sudan, accompanies the evolving dynamics of the war and addresses key issues related to the protracted Sudanese crisis. It does not seek to cover all research agendas generated by the war, such as displacement, refuge, and the economic and social impacts of the conflict, which lie beyond the scope of this issue. Rather, it highlights several research areas that the war has forcefully brought to the forefront, most notably security and military issues, studies of violence, and the challenges of peacebuilding fields that remain insufficiently examined through rigorous scholarly analysis.
